Jonah 1

YHWH commands Jonah to preach against Nineveh, but Jonah flees westward by ship to Tarshish instead. When a storm arises, the sailors cast lots and discover Jonah is responsible; he suggests they throw him overboard, and after reluctantly doing so, the storm ceases and a great fish swallows Jonah.

and they feared and they feared the mariners the sailors and they cried out and they cried out each man man to toward his god his mighty-ones and they cast and they hurled [direct object marker] object-marker the wares the prepared implements that that-which were in the ship in a seagoing vessel into toward the sea the sea to lighten to make light it of them from upon them But Jonah and Yonah and Yonah had gone down he went down into toward the sides extremities of of the ship the decked ship and he lay down and he lay down and was fast asleep he fell into deep stupor

and he approached and he drew near to him toward him captain great of the sailors the rope-handler and said and he said to him — what what? to you — sleeping one overcome by deep sleep arise Rise up call Call out upon toward your God your Mighty One perhaps perhaps will give thought he will polish himself the God the Mighty Ones to us — and not and not we perish we will perish
