David separates the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun for prophetic service in music and song before YHWH in the temple. Their twenty-four divisions are organized by lot, with leaders and skilled musicians totaling 288, assigned to prophesy with lyres, harps, and cymbals.
