1 Chronicles 13

David consults Israel's leaders and gathers all Israel from Shihor of Egypt to the entrance of Hamath to bring the **ark of God** (ארון אלהים) from Baalah at Kirjath Jearim, placing it on a new cart pulled by oxen.[1][5] At Chidon's threshing floor, when the oxen stumble and Uzza reaches out to steady the ark, the anger of **YHWH** burns against him, striking him dead for his irreverence; David, angered and afraid, leaves the ark at Obed-Edom's house for three months, where **YHWH** blesses it.[1][4][5]
