1 Chronicles 11

All Israel gathers at Hebron to anoint David king, citing his prior leadership and YHWH's word that he would shepherd and rule the people; David captures the stronghold of Zion (City of David) with Joab's aid, who becomes chief.[1][2] The chapter lists David's mighty men, including Jashobeam, Abishai, and Benaiah's exploits, and recounts three warriors risking their lives to fetch water from Bethlehem's well, which David pours out to YHWH as an offering.[1][2]
