While συστασιαστής closely relates to στασιάστης (‘rebel, insurrectionist’), the prefix συν- emphasizes participation with others rather than acting alone. English translations often use 'insurrectionist,' 'rebel,' or 'fellow-insurrectionist,' but 'fellow-rebel' or 'accomplice in revolt' better capture the nuance of communal involvement inherent in the term. συστασιαστής does not appear in the Septuagint.
