Job 12

Job responds to Zophar's accusations by asserting that he possesses wisdom equal to his friends and that YHWH controls all things, bringing darkness and light, destroying and building nations.[1] Job defends his understanding of divine power and sovereignty while challenging his friends' assumptions about the connection between sin and suffering.[1]

for a lamp burning torch contempt contempt for misfortune for deliberative-planning one who is at ease complacently secure one prepared being established for the stumblers for tottering ones foot foot

or or speak meditation-of to the earth to the land and it will teach you and she will direct you and they will tell they will recount to you — the fish fishes of of the sea the sea

with the aged with venerable aged men is wisdom wisdom and length and length of of days days is understanding discernment

Behold Look! he tears down he tears down and not and not it is rebuilt he will be built he shuts up he shuts against upon a man man and not and not it is opened he will be opened

הֵ֣ן 𐤄𐤍 hen Behold Look! With Him with him strength strength and wisdom sound resourcefulness his — the deceived the unwitting errer and the deceiver and the one leading astray

He leads the one leading counselors counseling ones away stripped stripped one and judges and judging ones he makes fools he makes a show

removing one who removes lip lip from-the-trusted to faithful ones and-taste discernment-of of-elders aged men he-takes he will take

He pours out pourer of contempt contempt on upon nobles noble-hearted ones and loosens belt of belts watercourses he weakens he slackened

שׁוֹפֵ֣ךְ 𐤔𐤅𐤐𐤊 shofekhe He pours out pourer of HVqrmsa בּ֭וּז 𐤁𐤅𐤆 buz contempt contempt HNcmsa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al on upon HR נְדִיבִ֑ים 𐤍𐤃𐤉𐤁𐤉𐤌 nedivim nobles noble-hearted ones HAampa וּ/מְזִ֖יחַ 𐤅/𐤌𐤆𐤉𐤇 umezicha and loosens belt of HC/Ncmsc אֲפִיקִ֣ים 𐤀𐤐𐤉𐤒𐤉𐤌 afiqim belts watercourses HNcmpa רִפָּֽה 𐤓𐤐𐤄 ripah he weakens he slackened HVpp3ms

He reveals the uncovering-one deep things deep ones from from me darkness darkness and brings out and he caused to go out to light to the light shadow of death death-shadow darkness

makes great one who makes great the nations to the massed nations and destroys them and he destroyed them enlarges spreading-out one the nations to the massed nations and leads them away he guided them
