Jeremiah 9

Jeremiah laments the deceit, treachery, and idolatry of Judah, wishing to flee to the desert from their adultery and lies, as YHWH declares judgment for forsaking His law and following the Baals, turning the land desolate with animals fleeing and cities becoming jackal dens.[1][2][3] YHWH calls for mourning women to lament the dead scattered like dung, emphasizing that true boasting is in knowing and understanding Him, not in wisdom, might, or riches, while condemning uncircumcised hearts among nations including Israel.[2][3][6]

man man from his neighbor his associate beware Guard yourselves and from and upon every entirety of brother brother do not upon / over trust may you rely securely for for/because every all of brother brother deceives to supplant deals falsely he supplants and every and whole of neighbor associate slander slander-peddler walks he will go

and-man and a man in-his-friend with his associate they-will-deceive they will trick and-truth and reliability not not they-will-speak they speak forth they-have-taught Learn! their-tongue their tongue to-speak Declare! lie falsehood doing-iniquity to make crooked they-have-worn-out they became weary

for upon the mountains the mountains I take up I lift weeping and because and wailing and a lament and for and upon pastures pleasant dwellings of the wilderness grazing-land of a lamentation lament-song for for/because they are burned up were set ablaze so that there is no from lack of man man passing through one crossing over nor and not they hear they heard the voice sound of of cattle acquired livestock of birds from flying creature of of the heavens the lofty-heights even and up to beasts land beast have fled they wandered restlessly they are gone they went
